Spotify announces NEW features

CREATE WITH 'CLIPS'

Short videos for the long term

Although video and music are closely intertwined, music is often overshadowed and truncated on social media. This is why spotify says it has developed Clips: to provide artists with a platform that encourages dedicated fandom and sustained success, rather than merely catering to the latest viral trend. Clips are brief, vertical videos that are less than 30 seconds in length, enabling artists to showcase their creativity and involve their fans in the artistic process, while keeping their music at the forefront.

In contrast to other short form video platforms, Clips on Spotify are linked to artist profiles, and can also be connected to tracks and albums. This enables viewers to swiftly access artists' music once they've finished watching the video. Spotify is rolling out this functionality to thousands of artist teams this week, and gradually extending it to more and more teams during the spring.

SAY HELLO TO HOME

Introducing the new Spotify HOME feed

During Stream On, Spotify unveiled a revamped mobile home feed that's more interactive, easier to explore, and video-focused. Personalization has always been a key element of the Spotify listening experience, and with this enhanced home feed, listeners can effortlessly delve into tailored recommendations. To help new listeners discover artists' music in the updated home feed, upload Clips or Canvases to their tracks via Spotify for Artists to distinguish their content.

START THE 'COUNTDOWN'

Get fans hyped for your new release

Previously, music teasers and streaming platforms were not aligned, but now that disconnect is being bridged. Spotify announced the introduction of Countdown Pages, which provide fans with a centralized location to pre-save upcoming releases by their favorite artists, preview track lists, pre-order new merchandise, watch video clips, and observe the timer counting down to the release moment. Countdown Pages have been tested by notable artists such as Taylor Swift, Karol G, Florence and the Machine, Quevedo, Paramore, and many others, with astonishing outcomes: On average, over 80% of those who pre-save the release stream it within the initial week. The Countdown Page for Ed Sheeran's forthcoming release is now accessible on mobile devices, and spotify is encouraging you to take a look. If you're interested in experimenting with Countdown Pages, please contact your Spotify representative.

MAKE MONEY ON SPOTIFY

Helping you make new revenue streams

Since fans spend a significant amount of time with artists' music on Spotify, they are creating more chances for them to explore merchandise and live events on the same platform they already use.

Spotify is expanding the availability of personalized concert listings in various locations throughout the app, so that fans never miss out on artists' upcoming shows. Users can now locate concerts on the home screen, the On Tour segment of artist profiles, the Now Playing view, and other sections. Additionally, whenever a concert is suggested, fans can click "Interested" to add it to their personal gig calendar in the Live Events Feed.
